This polished brass rail is expensive but first class quality. Finish is still beautiful after a couple of weeks of use. Doesn't appear finish will tarnish, at least in our (soft) water. Regardless, we wipe dry after a shower. Other polished brass shower hardware is still beautiful after 22 years.

Polished brass hardware is scarce and dear nowadays but we wanted to match what we have.

When mounting, make sure the four hole pattern for attachment is in a "square-on-a-side" configuration so the bar will not block your screw driver.

A grab bar or two like this is a godsend in the shower and mandatory if you are getting up in years. I don't know how I got along without it. We bought two.
