I am nearing a Total Knee Replacement, and I bought this in the meantime to take stress off my joint. I've had folding travel canes in the past, but this is quite different. The carbon fiber makes it extremely lightweight. I especially like it versus others I have tried because it seems to resist quite well the inevitable drops onto sidewalks, etc. Most others immediately develop obvious dings and blemishes in the finish that quickly make it look pretty bad. The finish on this carbon fiber cane is quite durable and while it does wear, it does not show the wear and tear as readily. It is a very good looking and durable cane that I would highly recommend.
