Much to my surprise, this Drano Dual-Force Foamer cleared a clog in a slow-running bathroom sink even though the clog was located somewhere beyond the trap. I knew that the trap was clear, because I had taken it apart, and thoroughly cleaned it. Before calling Roto-Rooter, I tried this product. All I had to do, was pour the bottle contents down the drain, wait one hour, and thoroughly flush the drain with hot water. At first the drain ran better, but still slowly; then it cleared completely after a few minutes of flushing.

This product is intended only for slow-running drains--the product label advises you to use a different product, Drano Max Gel Clog Remover, if you have a completely clogged sink. The Dual-Force bottle is divided inside, so that two different fluids are in the bottle. When you pour the bottle contents down the drain (hold the bottle with the label facing you and do it slowly), the fluids combine and produce foam. Some of the foam may back up into the sink, but you can rinse it back down, as the label advises, or just leave it until you're ready to clear the drain, as I did. One application consumes an entire 17-oz. bottle.

I purchased my Dual-Force Foamer at a local big box store. One 17-oz. bottle cost about four dollars (plus tax). If you're purchasing this product online, be sure to shop around for a good price, and don't forget to check the shipping charges.
