Black Straight Razor Double Strop Paste Stone Shaving Set 6 Pcs Review

I got the kit for my birthday from my wife. Unfortunately, I didn't do a whole lot of research before I asked for it, I just wanted something to try out. After I got the kit, I started reading up on how to shave. I was expecting to be able to take it out of the box and start shaving that night. I was wrong...you have to get a proper hone on your blade. The honing stone that comes with the kit is inadequate for this process. I'm going to take my razor (which feels cheap and has a plastic handle) to a barber to get it professionally honed for the first time and maybe pick up some stropping techniques. The only thing that feels like it's worth anything is the strop. There should be a beginner book included in this kit.

I would recommend investing in a decent razor and a decent strop, get your razor professionally honed and then pick up some decent soap, or just use normal shaving cream.
