Product Description
The Therion magnetic lounge pad allows you to apply magnetic therapy to larger areas of the body while relaxing on a sofa, lounge chair, or while traveling. The pad is very flexible so it can be placed under your body, or by flipping the pad upside down, the bio-north side can be draped over your body where it will comfortably conform to the area. If you use a foam bed wedge for reading, the lounge pad can be placed on top of the foam wedge to ease muscle tension and stress for a more restful night's sleep. Two layers of soft foam surround (77), 3/4" Diameter x 1/4" Thick, 4,300 gauss magnets. The magnets create a deep penetrating, magnetic therapy field to ease pain and tension while you relax. Unlike quilted pads that are very stiff, we designed the lounge pad with a very soft fabric that is comfortable to use under or over the body. I bought the Therion Magnetics PC212 Travel Pad thinking it would be a good trade-off from the standard fitted magnetic mattress pads selling for such a high price.I surreptitiously put it under our fitted sheet on my wife's side of the bed, as she is not a very sound sleeper (female 36 years old), to see if possibly a non-biased reaction could be achieved.
The first night my wife was so quiet in falling asleep, like she was in some sort of deep trance. The next morning she was very slow to be roused by the radio alarm clock. I conducted this experiment for about 6 nights, all with the same effect. By the seventh day, she started reporting feeling a dull headache, not sure where it was coming from. I let this go for one more night, hoping it was just a combination of work and life pressures. On waking from the seventh night of use, she reported what I can describe as an aura headache, somewhat of a migraine.
I then told her, and apologized promising basically I would keep it for my own use. I tried myself the next night, and woke up like I had undergone some sort of rolfing experience.
I asked around to several friends and a professional in the alternative health industry, and they had no clue what this sort of pad would be used for.
Thinking I might spur something of an effect in my dad's arthritis, I gave him the pad, and he forgot he was using it, except that he began reporting his sleep to seriously deteriorate. He used the pad correctly, as did my wife and myself, that with it applied underneath the body, no higher than chest level. I asked my dad if he ever applied the pad I had given him, and he thought it might be on his bed. I told him to remove it immediately. He has reported a direct change in his sleeping since then, but he has acquired a tremendous stomach pain at night most recently which prevents him from sleeping uninterrupted. I shudder to think this might be a deterioration started with this magnetic pad.
This pad is very powerful, and I would think it would have some application. Likely I'm guessing, not for sleeping, but possibly from some sort of severe muscle fatigue that could be removed at any time, once the strong sensation is felt from the pad. Just guessing. I think I would ask for my money back if I could. It is a very unique type of technology.
